With his fondness for scifi,
horror and fantasy B-movies, heavy metal music and graveyards, Pastor Z
is not quite your typical Christian clergy.
As the "Metal Chaplain" of Columbus Ohio, Pastor Z spends most weekends doing what he believes Jesus would do if he was living in Central Ohio today - hanging out on the local scene and living out the love, mercy and kindness of God in front of the other metalheads, goths and punks. Pastor Z also serves as director and producer of Tales from The Other
Side and makes guest appearances along with some of the characters

A few years ago I was praying Jesus' prayer as I was walking down High Street headed towards Skully's and found myself praying it differently than I'd ever prayed it before. I no longer saw the world as us and them but simply as US...all of us, human beings with common wants, needs and feelings. All of us crying out for love, compassion, friendship and salvation. I used to pray the Lord's Prayer in an exclusive way, as if I were praying: "Father of US who believe in You the same way I believe in You..." but now my prayer was inclusive: Father of all of us, every single one of us, humans created in Your image, brothers and sisters all needing guidance, friendship and a sense of value...I lift up and exalt YOUR name! Your Kingdom come, 'cuz Lord we NEED You here, reigning in each of OUR lives... Your will be done, 'cuz Lord I know you want only the BEST for all of us and that You have promised to prosper and not harm us - to forgive and reconcile us to Yourself - to bless and bring us back home into fellowship with You... Give each and every one of us our bread for today - the food, clothing and shelter we need to survive the next 24 hours... And forgive us for our failures, as we forgive others and that we might forgive others. It is Your kindness which leads us to repentance and it is Your kindness which leads us to show kindness to others... Protect all of us from temptation as well as anything else that would harm us as we walk this dirty road of life... ...and as we walk this road of life, lead us ALL back to you, because we all - ALL of US - need YOU! For Yours is the Kingdom, and the Power and the Glory forever and ever! Amen.
